You give us something to aspire to

Thatha,

It is too seldom that we have been able to see you and express our love and appreciation for you. You have had such a full life in every respect and even from afar you give us something to aspire to. We grandkids are so fortunate to have had such an amazing role model throughout our lives and we look forward to many more wonderful years of your love and guidance.

Happy belated 90th birthday and many more to come!

When God created grandparents the world was truly blessed
With all the special joys that make a family happiest…
For grandparents know how to do the things that warm a heart,
They touch our lives with loving care right from the very start…
They show that they believe in us and all we’re dreaming of…
When God created grandparents,
He blessed our lives with love.

Love, Sonya and Dilip

My Uncle – My Role Model

Durai Uncle, my role model

Durai Uncle, my role model

You’ve set the standards extremely high;
by the life you live,
by the love you give,
accomplishing achievements as each year passes by.

You excel in everything you do
because of your enthusiasm and sense of fun,
because you believe in a job well done
with joy, gratitude and laughter too.

You are a man of many a talent and skill
who works to serve and glorify God happily,

who always helps those in need selflessly,
showing how things can be done with power and will.

Uncle you are a role model for us to follow
be it your personal or professional life,
be it your social or Christian life,
for doubt or depression into your life you won’t allow.

From you, to live life to the full I’m learning,
to count every God-given blessing,
to savour every moment passing,
and try every adventure without regretting.

Thank you for your love and support over the years.
Thank you for taking me in as one of your nieces.
Thank you for courage to face my challenges.
Thank you for showing me how to live life without fears.

A fantastic 90th birthday to you my dearest Durai Uncle and may God continue to bless you with many more years of Health and Happiness.

Love and kisses,
Petu

He doesn’t look his age

He’s 90 but doesn’t look his age and does the maximum for others and at work because of his deep faith in God. An affectionate brother-in-law and family who took care of anyone in need.  He has a nice tenor voice.

Love and prayers and good wishes for an affectionate brother-in-law

Over the years we have always enjoyed hearing you tell us about your account of your experience of getting out of Burma. It is a good thing you that you have documented it in your autobiographical report for posterity as it will remain an inspiration to those who read it! That same relentless determination and persistence, that same untiring honest hard work, that same positive attitude filled with faith in the Lord with the hope that He would take care of you and bring you to safety that guided you then, has continued to guide you in all that you have done through all these decades of your life. You have indeed lived a purpose-driven life.

We pray that the Lord will bless you abundantly, so that you will continue to be a role model to us  and an inspiration to many, in the decade ahead.

Go hit a century, dearest Durai Athan.

With our love, prayers and special birthday kisses,
Murphy and Indra

Dear family,

As you know, Durai Uncle’s 90th birthday was celebrated with a bang on 13th May,2009. This is just the beginning of his ninetieth year and all of you still have lots of time to get involved!

It would be great if all of you shared your personal experiences with Durai Uncle and greeted him on this birthday blog. Simply email me at asirvatham@gmail.com

I will put up your messages under

2. Photos – you or your family with Durai Uncle

3. Memory Bank – special memories you want to share of your experiences with Dorai Uncle

Personalise your greetings

Please add your own special touches to your greetings. Your own personal drawings, paintings, cartoons, puppets, photos, flower arrangements, handwriting, calligraphy, whatever…. You all have so much talent! I would love to hear from each one of you. Please scan and send me your contributions by email.

Come on family, let’s show Durai Uncle just how much he’s impacted our lives in his ninety years!

Love,
Trixie

P.S. I’m looking for a good family photo or a portrait of Durai Uncle, especially of Durai Uncle laughing out loud. I’m specially appealing to the photographers in the family – Dorai Annan, Josh annan and anyone else who has good candid photos of Durai Uncle and his family.
